In some of my more recent articles, I’ve discussed lottery strategies that take advantage of the bell shaped curve distribution of certain lottery characteristics. There are a wide variety of such curves that lottery players use to increase their odds of winning the lottery. As with all of my articles, I was hoping to spark some response. Well, I was successful. However, to my surprise, it appears that I have fathered a uproar about lottery jackpots.

It’s great when I see other lottery players get fired up about the lottery. Their passion for the lottery gets my juices flowing. The idea of controversy doesn’t bother me, in fact, I thrive on it. It is grist for my writing mill. But, in this case, I have opened a can of worms. So, for the sake of civility, a sanitized version of their complaints goes something like this:

Bell shaped curves may be great but lottery jackpots, the actual winning lottery numbers, don’t act like that!

How can I put this nicely? Well, I can’t. Not only are my lottery playing critics wrong, they are wrong absolutely and across the board! All lotteries follow these bell shaped curves, both in theory and, I state most emphatically, in practice! And, a lottery number analysis on any lottery would show this. I hope that makes my position on the subject clear enough for everyone.

Now, you want me to back up what I have said. No problem. If you were sitting here with me at my computer, I would play one of my favorite games to make my case. I would say to you something like this: “Go ahead and pick any lottery you want.” Then, I would proceed to use my lottery software to prove, that when it comes to lottery jackpots, I am right on the money.

This is how I would do it. First, you would pick any lottery you choose. Second, you would pick a performance characteristic that interests you. Next I would display the theoretical bell shaped curve of that performance characteristic. This would be one of the graphs that some of you are objecting to. Finally, I would show you the same graph depicting what actually happened using the actual winning lottery jackpot numbers.

For example, you might select the Florida Lotto. Shortly, you would be looking at the theoretical graph covering the last 372 drawings (over 3 1/2 years). Next, I would show you the same graph of the winning lottery jackpot numbers. Lo and behold; a bell shaped curve. What happened over the 372 drawings history is exactly what theory predicted. In this case, both graphs fit like a hand and glove.

You shouldn’t be shocked by this. I’m not playing some parlor game. But, you’re still not convinced. After all, this could simply be an anomaly. Fine. We’ll do it again. OK, you choose.

This round you choose the Mega Millions lottery. Again, I show you the theoretical and the actual graphs for the last 372 drawings. Surprise! Again, the graphs are the same.

Lottery Jackpots

Still don’t believe me? No? OK, go ahead and pick another lottery. Then, the New York Lotto it is. No surprise here. The graphs are a match. This game could go on till the cows come home and the result will never change. I openly challenge anyone to show me an example where the theoretical and the winning lottery jackpot curves don’t match.

So, where are all the lottery jackpots hidden? By now you should know, they are all inside that bell shaped curve.
